Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled HGV Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and inspection of our fleet of HGVs and trailers, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
- Conduct safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT/PSV testing.
- Respond to vehicle defects and breakdowns, carrying out repairs efficiently.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified HGV Fitter, HGV Technician or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working on HGVs and trailers.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
