We are recruiting for a store manager in a small retail group of SPAR stores in the West Midlands. We are seeking a keen and adaptive Store Manager to lead one of our retail outlets.
The store does require the successful candidate to pass Post Office security and credit checks as part of the role, as it will include oversight of a Post Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership and organisational skills to drive sales and optimise store performance. The ideal candidate will possess management experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Promoting sales, is a key focus area of this job role. A personal alcohol license would also be an advantage, but the ability to complete the course would also be acceptable. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the store team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Organise staff rotas, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage stock levels, merchandising, and visual presentation to maximise sales potential.
- Implement sales strategies and promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within the store premises.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally via phone or in person.
- Analyse sales data and prepare reports for senior management to inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Experience
- Proven management or supervisory experience within retail or a similar customer-focused environment.
- Demonstrable supervisory experience with a track record of leading successful teams.
- Strong background in sales management, merchandising, and administrative duties.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Experience in team management, leadership roles, and implementing retail strategies is preferred.
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage time efficiently. This position is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a retail setting and is eager to contribute to the success of our store through excellent management practices.
- Ability to drive is highly desirable.

Pay: £29,500.00-£30,800.00 per year
