Encocam Ltd are recruiting for a Project / Production Engineer to work at our sites Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
We are an Engineering and Manufacturing company who specialises in crash test barriers and crash test dummies, as well as advanced composite structures and lightweight honeycomb technologies, serving industries such as automotive, aerospace, defence, rail, and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment. The Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Duties
- Take a lead role in projects, including planning and budgeting.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the project plan and keep project progress up to date.
- Produce technical documents, reports and presentations for both internal and external use (work instructions, job packs, etc.).
- Representing Encocam, or associated BU, for external communication as the expert in the associated area. Including technical committees, customer meetings and conferences etc.
- Provide technical support to sales, customers and production. Ensure a close working relationship with sales making sure that customer needs are met.
- Research and investigate technologies and processes to ensure that the Company remains aware of latest developments.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure technical specifications are available for all relevant project and production equipment/ materials.
- Ensure that development work is reported and stored in the Technical Library.
- Identify and source Regulations and Standards to support product development.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, identify trends and anomalies that help steer development (as part the product development cycle)
- Create and review test reports and CofC’s.
- Deliver engineering designs, taking method of manufacturing into account.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
- Knowledge of logic controllers and their implementation in projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
