Role Purpose
The Dispatch Assistant exists to get every online and store order packed and out the door accurately, on time, and presented to the standard Jules B's customers expect from a premium multi-brand retailer. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role at the heart of daily warehouse operations, created to add capacity to the dispatch team as order volumes and operational demands continue to grow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Picking & Packing
- Pack orders to Jules B's presentation standards - tissue, packaging and branding - as set out by the Dispatch Supervisor
- Check items against the order before packing, catching errors before they leave the building
- Handle premium fashion and jewellery items with appropriate care at every stage
- Carry out a final quality check on every item to be packed, report any issues to Dispatch Supervisor.
- Keep packaging stock and consumables tidy and organised, and flag low stock to the Dispatch Supervisor
2. Dispatch & Courier Handover
- Prepare parcels for courier collection, including correct labelling and manifesting
- Work at the pace needed to consistently meet daily courier cut-off times
- Flag any courier collection or manifest issues promptly to the Dispatch Supervisor
5. Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe dispatch area at all times.
- Follow safe manual handling practices and use PPE as required
- Report any accidents, near misses or equipment faults promptly
6. Team & Flexibility
- Work flexibly across picking, packing, dispatch and warehouse tasks as volumes require, particularly during peak trading
- Support colleagues and flag workload or capacity concerns to the Dispatch Supervisor
- Follow the daily priorities and instructions set by the Dispatch Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Comfortable working at pace while maintaining accuracy, particularly during busy trading periods
- Good attention to detail, especially when checking orders and handling premium product
- Basic IT/system literacy, with the ability to learn Jules B's warehouse and dispatch systems
- Reliable, punctual, and works well as part of a small team
- Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks safely, following training and guidance
Desirable
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail stockroom, or dispatch/fulfilment environment — full training will be provided if not
