Duties
- Oversee the night-time routine for residents, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the shift
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and leadership to maintain high standards of care
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as mobility, medication administration, and hygiene needs
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, promptly reporting any concerns or changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate care plans and documentation to reflect each resident’s needs and progress
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and team members to ensure clear understanding and positive relationships
- Support the implementation of safety procedures, including emergency responses and incident management
- complete light cleaning duties
Requirements
- Proven supervising or leadership experience within a care home or senior care environment
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
- Experience in developing or following care plans tailored to individual resident needs
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and documentation purposes
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, health & safety regulations, and infection control practices
