We are looking for a cheerful and enthusiastic Activities / Wellbeing Coordinator (AKA “director of fun”) who enjoys working with the elderly. You will join our friendly team at The Glen Care Home, where we offer general nursing care to 52 residents.
You will be concerned with the emotional and social wellbeing of our residents and also able to communicate with their families and friends, among others by FaceBook.
You will be ‘dementia aware’, pet-friendly and garden-wise, as well as creative and resourceful. You will have an interest in the past and a passion for the present.
It is a multi-faceted job, demanding a flexible approach and a wide spectrum of life-skills and experiences. “Master of all trades, Jack of none!”
Experience of working with elderly persons would be an advantage, but an outgoing personality with good communication and organisational skills are vital.
The Home is located in a small village near Shepton Mallet, close to the Mendip area in Somerset. The home has an excellent reputation and is well rated.
The position is 30 hrs/wk, and includes weekdays and rotating weekends. The post is subject to suitable references and a full DBS enhanced disclosure.
If you would like to know more about the position and you think you can make a difference in enhancing the quality of life and comfort for our residents, we would love to hear from you. Please call Terri-ann Weatherall at 01749-830369.
