The Salesians of Don Bosco have been resident on the Surrey Lane site in Battersea for over a hundred years. Some of the Salesian priests and brothers work in St John Bosco College, Sacred Heart and surrounding parishes, others further afield. The house is also a place of welcome for Salesians from across the globe.
We are looking for an experienced housekeeper to join our small housekeeping team. You will be responsible for delivering high standards of cleanliness in the house and guest accommodation with cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, laundry, changing bedding, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, regular deep cleaning and related tasks (incl. in a commercial kitchen).
The housekeeping team is responsible for ensuring very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the community house and guest accommodation, making it a welcoming and pleasant environment for up to 24 residents plus guests.
You must be able to work on your own initiative, be reliable and trustworthy. You will be well presented and have a friendly nature. It’s important to note that the role can be physically demanding; you will be standing for extended periods of time, frequently moving up/downstairs, changing beds, lifting and carrying and cleaning a commercial kitchen periodically for which you will receive job specific training.
Working hours: 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri) negotiable
