Duties
- Prepare and cook balanced meals and snacks suitable for young children, ensuring variety and nutritional value.
- Follow strict food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
- Assist with meal planning to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and cooking equipment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with staff to coordinate meal times and ensure smooth serving processes.
- Monitor food inventory levels, place orders as needed, and manage stock efficiently.
- Serve meals in a friendly, welcoming manner that encourages positive eating habits among children.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices.
- Strong skills in meal preparation and culinary techniques suitable for young children.
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to adapt menus based on dietary needs or special occasions
