Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated FLT (Forklift) Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, shipping and receiving tasks, and operating forklift equipment safely and effectively. We are recruiting for two positions:
Morning shift: 6am -12pm (30 hours per week) Tues - Saturday.
Evening shift: 2pm - 8pm (30 hours per week) Mon - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Manage inventory using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software accurately
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Handle materials safely, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and verification of goods
- Support materials handling tasks such as stacking, organising, and moving stock as required
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before use to identify potential issues
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse or industrial setting
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting
- Experience with materials handling, load & unload procedures, and shipping & receiving processes
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for inventory management and documentation purposes
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or operating machinery
This role requires a committed individual with strong organisational skills, mechanical aptitude, and a focus on safety. Candidates should possess relevant forklift certification or licences, along with prior warehouse experience.
