We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Male Children Support Worker to join our team working supporting under 18 year old's with learning and physical disabilities within their home and the community.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with complex disabilities and possess the ability to communicate effectively. It’s a varied and flexible role; a challenging yet rewarding position; helping to enhance children’s lives by encouraging them to participate in positive activities and in meeting their needs. You will be required to build a trusting relationship and provide emotional support to young people who may have complex needs and present challenging behavior's.
This role is to support a male young person with complex needs on a 2:1 basis. Working within a team you will be required to work in a rota including days, nights and weekends.
Duties
· Provide personal care and support to children, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
· Communicate regularly with children to understand their needs and preferences, fostering a trusting relationship.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in behaviour or health to the relevant professionals.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with specific needs
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each client's needs.
The right candidates will;
- Have previous experience of working with complex needs and challenging behavior's,
- Be positive, caring and supportive,
- Knowledge of first aid principles and practices is essential.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by client needs.
- Have good communication skills and and be an excellent listener,
- Be committed to providing support in positively changing a young person’s life.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and own transport is essential with business insurance
