About Us
Northgate is a vibrant, multi-cultural primary school situated very close to Crawley town centre. We are a large primary school with 660 children on roll currently including a Specialist Support Centre (SSC) for children who are deaf, and a further 40-place maintained Nursery. Our pupils range in age from 4 – 11.
The purpose of the role is to create a safe and stimulating play environment and assist with developing opportunities which encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play.
We are looking for someone to lead a team of colleagues in the management and day to day operation and organisation of the breakfast and after school care clubs. In so doing, they will ensure all children attending the clubs (including those who have individual needs or are vulnerable) finish/start their day in a calm and positive manner

General Duties
- Plan and organise a timetable of activities for a range of children
- Provide a secure, safe and stimulating environment for the children
- Ensure that the club area is appropriately resourced and maintained to a high standard
- Coordinate the children’s snacks and clear away afterwards, encouraging the full involvement of pupils, as appropriate
- Liaise with parents, ensuring that they are kept fully informed about their child whilst they attend the club
- Be aware of the children’s personal, social and emotional needs and to respond to these appropriately
- Discuss individual children’s issues and development with the SLT, as appropriate, and take any necessary action
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required to reflect changing needs and circumstances within the clubs.

- Be approachable, organised and able to work as part of a team
- Be able to communicate effectively with adults and children
