Job Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of Shilbourne Ventures, a fantastic new pub coming soon to Leamington Spa. We are seeking an experienced and multi-talented Operations Supervisor to oversee daily shifts while actively engaging in Bartending and Waiting duties. This is a crucial, hybrid role for a professional who can lead from the front. Accommodation available and at least 1-2 years of experience required.
Duties
- Hands-on Service:
- Bartending: Accurately and quickly prepare all drinks, including draught, wine, spirits, and complex Cocktail Pitchers, while maintaining compliance with licensing laws.
- Waiting/Serving: Provide excellent customer service, manage seating, accurately take orders (including via the Wetherspoon app), and deliver food and drink to tables.
- Management & Operations: Supervise all shift activities, ensuring the smooth operation of both the kitchen and front-of-house. Lead, train, and motivate the entire team, stepping in to support where needed to maintain service standards.
- Financial Control: Manage cash handling, conduct daily financial reconciliation, and prepare closing and opening stock balance sheets.
- Stock & Purchasing: Oversee and manage all stock levels (food and beverage). Conduct regular stock valuation and ensure all purchasing is accurate and within budget to maintain product availability (e.g., Real Ales, Premium Spirits).
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or as a bartender is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety standards relevant to bar service.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to manage multiple orders during busy periods efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a lively environment.
- Friendly personality with good communication skills.
- A responsible attitude towards alcohol service and guest safety.
