About Us: The Alpaca, a vibrant gastropub located in the heart of Islington, is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. With a bustling restaurant and bar, a spacious outdoor seating area, and a second bar in a private function room, we offer a diverse and exciting environment for an ambitious manager to thrive in.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management:
- Lead and inspire the bar team, ensuring a high standard of service.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including staff schedules and performance.
2. Sales-driving skills
- Drive sales in-house by motivating the team, setting targets and rewarding success
- Organise events and drive sales through innovation
3. Key-Holder Responsibilities:
- Assume key-holder responsibilities, maintaining security protocols.
- Open and close the bar, ensuring a smooth transition between shifts.
4. Hiring and Staff Development:
- Participate in the hiring process for bar staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated team.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in a management role.
- Authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to commute to London N1 8LU.
