About Us
Doncaster Joinery Ltd is a specialist fire door contractor based in Doncaster, carrying out fire door installations, maintenance, inspections and remedial works across South Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are looking for an experienced Fire Door Installer / Maintenance Engineer to join us on a long-term self-employed basis.
We are particularly interested in applicants based in Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield and nearby areas, with most work taking place within approximately 40 miles of Doncaster.
The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Installing FD30 and FD60 fire doorsets
- Carrying out fire door maintenance and remedial works
- Installing hinges, closers, locks, seals and associated ironmongery
- Adjusting and upgrading existing fire doors
- Working within schools, care homes, commercial and residential properties
- Completing work to a high standard and in accordance with fire door regulations
- Recording completed works with photographs where required
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a highly competent and reliable installer who can work independently with minimal supervision.
This is not a trainee role and is not suitable for general joiners without fire door experience.
You must be confident managing your own workload, solving problems on site and representing the company professionally when dealing with clients and site staff.
Essential Requirements
✔ Previous fire door installation and maintenance experience
✔ Own van and tools
✔ Valid CSCS Card
✔ Full UK Driving Licence
✔ Ability to work independently
✔ Good understanding of fire door installation and remedial works
✔ Reliable, organised and professional attitude
✔ Good communication skills
Preferred Experience
- FIRAS experience
- BM TRADA experience
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 Carpentry & Joinery
- Fire Door Inspection qualification
- DBS Certificate
- Experience working within schools, healthcare environments or social housing
