About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and hardworking individual to join our busy site café based within the Gilbert-Ash construction project in Long Ashton, Bristol.
The café provides a range of hot and cold drinks, breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and freshly prepared food to workers on site. This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
Previous catering or café experience is preferred, and experience in food preparation or cooking would be an advantage, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving hot and cold food
- Making fresh sandwiches, breakfasts, and daily specials
- Serving hot and cold drinks, including tea, coffee, and soft drinks
- Operating the till and handling customer transactions
- Providing excellent customer service
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
- Restocking food, drinks, and supplies as required
- Assisting with opening and closing duties
- Working as part of a small, friendly team
Requirements
- Friendly and professional manner
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Basic food preparation or cooking experience desirable but not essential
- Previous café, catering, hospitality, or retail experience beneficial
- Comfortable using a till system (training provided if required)
- Understanding of food hygiene practices is advantageous
