Daytime Hours | Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day & Easter Off | Work-Life Balance | Passionate Food
Are you passionate about beautifully crafted food, exceptional presentation and creating an outstanding customer experience?
At Café Theatre, we believe great food doesn't need to come from a late-night kitchen. We're looking for an enthusiastic and talented Deli Chef to take ownership of our thriving deli section, producing fresh, vibrant and delicious food every single day.
This is more than simply serving food—it's about creating a deli that customers return to time and time again.
If you take pride in your work, love quality ingredients and enjoy working within a friendly, professional team, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Deli Chef, you'll be responsible for managing and running the deli section, ensuring every product leaving the counter reflects the highest standards of quality, freshness and presentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the deli section.
- Preparing and serving toasted paninis, artisan sandwiches, quiches, pastries and other deli favourites.
- Producing fresh salads, savoury items, grab-and-go meals and seasonal specials.
- Maintaining exceptional food presentation and merchandising standards.
- Ensuring all displays remain fully stocked, fresh and visually appealing throughout service.
- Monitoring food quality, freshness and product rotation.
- Following company specifications, recipes and portion controls.
- Preparing ingredients and completing daily mise en place.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards at all times.
- Recording temperatures and completing all food safety documentation accurately.
- Managing stock levels and communicating ordering requirements.
- Reducing waste through effective stock rotation and careful production planning.
- Keeping the deli area clean, organised and ready for service.
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Contributing ideas for new products, seasonal dishes and retail opportunities.
- Delivering consistently high standards during busy lunch services.
- Supporting colleagues across the kitchen when required.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has previous experience within a deli, café or fresh food environment.
- Takes genuine pride in producing beautifully presented food.
- Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Thrives in a fast-paced service environment.
- Is passionate about customer satisfaction.
- Understands food safety legislation and HACCP procedures.
- Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Is reliable, positive and eager to learn.
