Summary
The Sales Executive will play a key role in driving the commercial growth of Burton Albion Football Club by generating new business, developing existing relationships and driving sales across hospitality, sponsorship, advertising, conference and events, and other commercial opportunities.
The role will be highly proactive and target-driven, with a strong focus on outbound sales activity including telephone calls, email, LinkedIn, networking and face-to-face engagement. The successful candidate will be a confident speaker to businesses and individuals, identifying their needs and presenting relevant opportunities that deliver value for both the client and the Club.
Responsibilities
- Deliver consistent outbound sales activity across telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking and face-to-face engagement.
- Generate new leads and identify potential commercial opportunities across hospitality, sponsorship, advertising, conference and events and other Club products.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects, ensuring opportunities are followed up consistently and progressed through the sales process.
- Make regular outbound calls and conduct proactive prospecting activity to generate meetings, opportunities and new business.
- Develop positive relationships with new and existing clients, acting as a professional and responsive point of contact.
- Understand client requirements and use a consultative approach to identify appropriate products, packages and commercial solutions.
- Attend client meetings, stadium tours, networking events and site visits to help present and promote the Club's commercial opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation of tailored proposals, presentations and supporting sales materials.
- Support the negotiation and closing of sales within agreed commercial guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products and services to existing clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, leads, meetings, opportunities and communications within the Club's CRM system.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Media, Operations and Matchday teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Represent Burton Albion professionally at matchdays, networking events, business events and other Club activities.
- Take ownership of agreed sales activity and performance targets, including calls, meetings, new leads, proposals and conversions.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, renewals and new business.
- Monitor sales performance and pipeline activity, providing feedback and insights to help improve sales approaches and conversion rates.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Club's commercial products, pricing and proposition to confidently communicate their value to prospective clients.
- Build strong, professional relationships with existing clients and commercial partners.
- Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day client queries and requests.
- Proactively identify opportunities to develop existing accounts and increase their engagement with the Club.
- Support client retention and renewal activity through regular communication and relationship management.
- Ensure agreed client requirements are communicated effectively to relevant internal teams.
Person Specification - Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of the local area, with the ability to identify and engage potential prospects and opportunities.
- Strong English and maths skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, prepare proposals, and handle pricing and numerical information confidently.

- Professional, personable, and comfortable engaging a wide range of stakeholders in both formal and informal settings
- Ability to work to high standards, flexible, with an ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure during key times
