Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support individuals with their personal care routines while respecting their dignity and privacy
- Help implement personalised care plans tailored to each individual's needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Support residents with activities, routines, and social interaction.
- Follow infection control procedures and health & safety policies.
- Work in line with safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately.
- Respect confidentiality and professional boundaries.
We expect staff to:
- Speak to residents politely and calmly, even under pressure.
- Show patience with residents living with dementia or challenging behaviour.
- Take time to listen to residents and families.
- Treat everyone fairly, regardless of background or ability.
Skills
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the sector. We value who you are more than what you’ve done.
- Ability to read and understand care plans and follow instructions accurately
- Good IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and team members
- Fluency in English is required for effective interaction with clients and colleagues
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ well-being
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
