We are seeking a motivated, flexible and dependable Factory Operative to join our fast paced manufacturing team.
HOURS
Working hours are based upon a rotating shift for which you receive a financial incentive in addition to your hourly rate.
Week 1: 6.55 to 14.55
Week 2:14.45 to 22.45
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- To operate production processes at the correct rate to support the manufacture of finished products, sub-assemblies, and components, while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
- Maintain product quality in line with QA specifications.
- Adhere to company health and safety guidelines, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and support the company’s 5S programme.
- Work effectively as part of a team, providing support to others and communicating proactively to highlight problems or improvement opportunities.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate production processes at the required output rate to meet the production plan and ensure on-time delivery. This may include manual assembly, inspection, and operating machinery/equipment, with basic adjustments or maintenance as required to maintain output and quality.
- Manufacture products to required quality standards and accurately record data in line with specifications.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks to support safe and efficient production operations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and contribute to the 5S programme to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support company goals and objectives.
- Report problems or improvement opportunities promptly to a manager, supervisor, or team leader to ensure timely resolution.
- Carry out basic preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.
Requirements
- Prior hands on experience in a factory or manufacturing environment is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with assembly line processes is advantageous
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi task
- Commitment to safety standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a physically active role
