We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker / Practitioner to join a well-established Families First team in Durham. The service supports children and young people who are subject to Child in Need (CIN) plans, Child Protection (CP) plans, and those who are in care or subject to care proceedings (up to the point of final orders or care plans being agreed).

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload involving CIN, CP, and Looked After Children (LAC)
- Undertake statutory assessments, develop care plans, and deliver targeted interventions
- Work in line with the Signs of Safety practice model
- Engage and work collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners
- Prepare reports for court proceedings and attend court as required
- Participate in reflective supervision and contribute to group supervision and case discussions
- Offer guidance and support to less experienced team members, including NQSWs and students
- Maintain accurate case records using the Liquid Logic system
- Promote safeguarding and positive outcomes for children through evidence-based practice
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in children’s services
- Strong understanding of legislation, policy, and best practice in safeguarding children
- Experience in working with CIN, CP, and LAC cases
- Confident in preparing and presenting reports for court and statutory meetings
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise complex workloads
- Skilled in relationship-based and strengths-focused practice
- Experience using Liquid Logic is desirable but not essential
