Due to our continued growth and an expanding workload, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Arboricultural Consultant to join our team.

The Role
As our Arboricultural Consultant, you will be responsible for undertaking tree surveys, inspections and assessments, producing professional reports and providing practical arboricultural advice to support tree management, development and planning decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking professional tree surveys and inspections
- Preparing clear, accurate arboricultural reports and recommendations
- Carrying out tree condition and risk assessments
- Providing professional advice on tree management and maintenance
- Supporting clients with development and planning-related arboricultural matters
- Liaising professionally with clients, developers, local authorities and other stakeholders
- Identifying tree-related hazards and recommending appropriate remedial works
- Applying recognised tree risk assessment methodologies
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Working alongside our wider arboricultural and operational teams
- Representing Essex Tree Brothers professionally while attending client sites
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate should have:
- A qualification in arboriculture, forestry or a related subject – Level 3 minimum; higher-level qualifications preferred
- Experience within tree surveying and arboricultural consultancy
- Professional Tree Inspection (LANTRA or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of BS5837 – experience applying this within development and planning projects would be beneficial
- Familiarity with recognised tree risk assessment methodologies such as VALID, QTRA, TRAQ or similar
- A sound understanding of tree biology, identification, defects and risk management
- Strong written skills with the ability to produce professional reports
- Confident verbal communication and client-facing skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- A professional, motivated and practical approach
- A willingness to continue learning and developing professionally
- A full UK driving licence
