Main Purpose of Job:
The post holder will work as part of a team managed by the Director of Attendance and Conduct, supporting staff and students within TTUTC and maintaining, on a day-to-day basis, the high expectations we hold as a school, while also leading students. The role is part of an experienced and supportive conduct team, A highly supportive senior leadership team also assist with conduct issues within the school and work closely with conduct Leaders
- To form strong, positive relationships with students across the UTC
- To offer behavioural interventions for students
- To generate an ethos of professional conduct and respect amongst all students at the UTC
Main Duties and Responsibilities to include:
Supporting Conduct of Students
- To be responsible for duties at the beginning and end of the day, and during lunchtime, as part of the conduct team.
- During the school day, to monitor students’ behaviour in classrooms and support staff if needed.
- To implement behaviour interventions as necessary.
- To investigate conduct incidents and update staff within the school on outcomes.
- To record incidents relating to conduct within the school on the school’s Bromcom system.
- To communicate with parents, both in person, on the phone, and via letters, regarding their child’s conduct in school.
- To deliver UTC’s anti-bullying campaign for all students across the UTC along side the rest of conduct team
- To liaise effectively with parents/carers, staff and agencies to support student conduct and well-being as directed by your line manager.
- Oversee support packages for pupils to reintegrate them into school following periods of exclusion/absence as directed by your line manager
General
- Provide first aid support to visitors/students/ staff
To carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Principal that are commensurate with grade and nature of the post
Conditions
- Term time only – 39 weeks (38 Weeks plus 5 inset days)
- £22,318 - 38 Weeks Plus inset days Term Time Only (FTE £25,976) + Additional £250pa for First Aid Support if added to the rota
- Usual daily working hours between 7.45am and 4.30pm, total 36.5 hours per week – actual hours to be agreed.
The post holder will have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people s/he comes into contact with.
