Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Door Joiner to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire-rated doors and associated components to ensure safety compliance and building integrity. Your expertise will contribute to creating secure environments in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. Responsibilities
- Install fire-rated doors, frames, hinges, locks, and seals according to project specifications and safety standards
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing fire doors to ensure ongoing compliance and functionality
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to interpret schematics and technical drawings for precise installation
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to modify or create custom door components as needed
- Inspect completed installations for quality control, ensuring all work meets fire safety regulations and building codes
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspection reports for accountability
- Assist in site preparation activities such as masonry or construction painting when required to support overall project progress
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry, fabrication, or construction with a focus on door installation or related trades
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and safety protocols related to fire door systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction machinery
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, plastering, masonry, and construction painting is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to read technical schematics and interpret construction plans accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or confined spaces
