We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our caring team within a reputable care home. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital role in supervising junior staff, developing care plans, and ensuring the well-being and dignity of all residents.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care to elderly residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices and maintaining high standards of care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Lead on the development and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including records of medication administration and incident reports
- Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and dignity for all residents
- Support the organisation of activities that enhance residents’ quality of life
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to implement individualised care strategies
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate resident outings or staff mobility needs
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and professionalism at all times
