We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service, technical expertise and high-quality workmanship. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire & Security Service and Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding team.
The Role
This role will primarily focus on the planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repair of fire and security systems across our customer sites.
You will manage a varied service workload, working independently to identify faults, complete repairs and ensure systems remain compliant, reliable and fully operational. You will also provide customers with clear, professional advice and maintain accurate electronic service records.
Although the position is predominantly service and maintenance-based, you may occasionally assist with commissioning, remedial works and smaller installations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing of:
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Intruder alarm systems
- CCTV systems
- Access control systems
- Emergency lighting systems
- Diagnosing and resolving system faults efficiently.
- Completing repairs, remedial works and component replacements.
- Testing systems and confirming they are operating correctly and safely.
- Identifying defects, non-compliances and recommended improvements.
- Completing electronic service reports, certificates and supporting documentation accurately.
- Ensuring work complies with relevant British Standards, industry regulations and company procedures.
- Providing clear technical advice and system guidance to customers.
- Liaising with the office team regarding follow-on works, quotations and parts requirements.
- Participating in the company call-out rota.
- Maintaining the company vehicle, tools, stock and equipment to a professional standard.
- Occasionally supporting commissioning and installation work where required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience in a fire and security service and maintenance role.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience servicing fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.
- Ability to work confidently across a range of manufacturers’ equipment.
- Good understanding of relevant British Standards, including BS 5839.
- Ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial action.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage appointments and prioritise workload effectively.
- Accurate completion of electronic service reports and documentation.
Desirable
- FIA qualifications.
- ECS/CSCS card.
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- Experience with systems manufactured by Paxton, Texecom, Hikvision, Dahua, Advanced, Kentec, Apollo.
- Knowledge of SSAIB and BAFE requirements.
- Experience with monitored fire and security systems.
- Emergency lighting inspection and testing experience.

Schedule: Monday to Friday
Additional work: Overtime available and participation in the call-out rota
Location: Field-based, travelling to customer sites, works predominantly based in Gloucestershire.
