Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Ground Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be actively involved in various outdoor construction projects, ensuring that sites are maintained to the highest standards. Ideally you will be an allrounder and hold either CPCS or NPORS Dumper and Roller but not essential. a CSCS card is and Asbestos Awareness and Manuel Handling is required but this can be arranged.
Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, and turf care to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery like excavators under supervision to perform digging, trenching, and site preparation.
- Support irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance to ensure efficient water distribution across project sites.
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report findings promptly.
- Help with general construction activities including material handling, site cleanup, and equipment setup.
- Maintain tools and equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with operating machinery such as excavators or power tools is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools required for landscaping and construction tasks.
- Strong understanding of site safety procedures and ability to follow safety guidelines diligently.
- Good physical stamina with the ability to stand, lift, dig, and perform outdoor work for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills related to ground work and site development.
