Waking Night Casual Support Worker
We are seeking a caring, reliable and attentive Waking Night Casual Support Worker to join our residential care team. You’ll ensure our residents are safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the night, providing reassurance and assistance where needed. This is a vital role in maintaining a calm and nurturing environment while promoting dignity and independence for every individual.
Please note: This is a casual, zero-hours position, meaning shifts will be offered on an as-and-when-needed basis rather than contracted hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality overnight care and emotional support to residents.
- Carry out regular checks in line with care plans and respond promptly to residents’ needs.
- Support with personal care, mobility, or medication where required (following training and policies).
- Monitor the wellbeing of residents, ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Keep accurate records and complete night reports for the morning handover.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in communal areas during the night.
- Work closely with the daytime care team to ensure continuity of care and communication.
About You
- Kind, patient and compassionate, with a genuine passion for supporting others.
- Able to remain alert, observant and professional throughout the night.
- Confident working independently, while also being a reliable team member.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Experience in residential care or a similar role is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
- A current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
Pay
- £12.71 per hour
- Rising to £13.45 per hour from 2nd April 2026
