Overview
Sound Site Services Ltd are a commercial Grounds Maintenance and Landscaping/ Groundworks Company based in Lee Mill and service over 100 sites in the South West .
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, hardworking Grounds Maintenance/Landscaping Operative to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will work within both areas of the business to include maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. You will also work within the Landscaping/Groundworks team on a variety of projects as required, so a flexible, 'can-do' attitude is required
Experience of Grounds Maintenance, Landscaping and/or Construction is a definite advantage, but full training will be given.
Please Note: The position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires you to be physically fit and active and to hold a UK driving license.
Duties
- Conduct routine grounds maintenance including mowing, strimming, pruning, and weeding to ensure grounds are visually appealing and well maintained
- Assist with Landscaping and groundworks and related tasks for outdoor spaces as required
- Operate equipment such as strimmers, mowers, hedge cutters and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools for tasks such as trimming, digging, and planting with precision and care
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal functionality
- Assist with landscaping and related tasks to outdoor spaces as required
- Monitor the condition of outdoor areas and report any hazards or necessary extra works or repairs promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, equipment and work van.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, horticulture, construction or related fields is preferred but not essential as training will be given
- Familiarity with hand tools and equipment used in gardening and construction work is an advantage
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for manual tasks is vital
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently
- Able to work effectively and flexibly within a team environment
- Though experience and/or qualifications are beneficial they are not essential as training can be provided for suitable candidates
