Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety inspections and ensuring vehicles meet the required standards for roadworthiness. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough MOT inspections on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards
- Identify defects or issues that may affect vehicle safety or emissions, and document findings accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to perform inspections efficiently
- Assist in the repair or maintenance of vehicles when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and service history in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Stay updated on current MOT legislation and industry best practices through ongoing training
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, with physical strength to handle vehicle parts or equipment as required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Valid MOT Tester qualification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) is essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to explain findings clearly to colleagues or customers
This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to maintaining high standards of vehicle safety through meticulous inspection work.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
