Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire
Start Date: As soon as possible/September 2026
Contract: Flexible temporary roles (day-to-day, short-term and long-term)
Salary: £93 - £105 per day (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications)
About the role
Heart of Supply is incredibly excited to be partnering with schools across Scunthorpe and supporting local education settings with their recruitment needs.
We are working with a number of welcoming and supportive schools that are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These schools understand the difference a great Teaching Assistant can make and are keen to find individuals who genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and build confidence.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning, provide additional guidance where needed and help pupils with a range of needs feel engaged, included and successful in the classroom. No two days are the same, making this a varied, rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day.
Whether you're supporting phonics in EYFS, helping pupils develop confidence in Key Stage 1, or providing targeted support in Key Stage 2, your contribution will have a lasting impact on children's educational journeys.
We are looking for proactive, adaptable and caring Teaching Assistants who are comfortable working across different age groups and supporting a variety of learning needs. In return, you'll have the opportunity to work in schools where your experience is valued, your support is appreciated and your contribution genuinely matters.
As we continue to grow our presence across Scunthorpe, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of our expanding network of education professionals and build relationships with schools that could lead to longer-term and permanent opportunities.
About the schools
Heart of Supply works closely with a fantastic mix of schools across Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas, including primary and secondary schools, academies, local authority settings, and specialist SEND provisions. Each school has its own character, but all share a supportive approach and a real appreciation for dedicated education staff.
Whether your experience is in early years, KS2, secondary education through to A-Level, or supporting pupils with additional needs, we take the time to connect you with schools that suit your background, strengths, and preferences. Working with Heart of Supply also gives you the chance to build experience across a variety of classroom settings while becoming part of a friendly and growing team making a positive impact in local schools.
What you will need:

- A kind, confident, and calm approach, with a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed
- The ability to follow a teacher’s lead while using your initiative to support individuals and small groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting children with additional needs would be advantageous
- A flexible and proactive attitude, ready to step into different classrooms and year groups
- A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification is helpful, but not essential if you have relevant experience

- Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term
- Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
- A friendly, experienced consultant who listens
- Free CPD and ongoing professional development
