Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to handle deliveries with care and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks, across designated routes
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring items are secure during transit
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and punctuality
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding delivery status or any issues encountered
- Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Assist in vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks to uphold safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods courteously and professionally
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or commercial vehicles
- Valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., LGV or HGV licence if applicable)
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading goods and lifting items when necessary
- Organised, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by delivery schedules
