Warehouse Operative
Reports To
Warehouse Supervisor / Warehouse Manager
Job Purpose
To support the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse by accurately receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching stock while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation and housekeeping.
Key ResponsibilitiesStock Handling
- Receive, unload and check incoming deliveries against delivery notes.
- Accurately put away stock into designated bin locations and racking systems.
- Pick and prepare customer orders to the required quality and productivity standards.
- Pack orders securely and accurately for dispatch.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
Stock Control
- Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
- Maintain accurate stock records and report discrepancies.
- Support stock rotation and replenishment activities.
- Ensure products are stored correctly within allocated bin racking locations.
- Assist with investigating stock variances and damaged goods.
Pallet Wrapping & Dispatch
- Build, secure and wrap pallets to transport standards.
- Prepare pallets for shipment using stretch wrap and other packaging materials.
- Ensure all dispatch paperwork is completed accurately.
- Label and stage goods ready for collection by couriers and transport companies.
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with goods-in, goods-out and general warehouse duties as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
Skills & Experience Required Essential
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Experience of pallet wrapping and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Knowledge of stock control procedures.
- Experience using bin racking systems and warehouse storage locations.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
Desirable / Full Training will be given.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience working within e-commerce, retail or distribution environments.
- Manual handling training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move stock safely.
- Comfortable standing, bending and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to undertake manual handling duties in line with company procedures.

Working Hours - 40
Salary - £13.50 per hour
