Garage Door Surveyor – South West Group

South West Group is a well-established company trading since 1999, specialising in the supply, installation, and automation of garage doors, industrial doors, and gates across Cornwall and the South West. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a reliable and detail-oriented Garage Door Surveyor to join our team.
The Role
You will be responsible for visiting customer properties to carry out accurate site surveys for garage doors and related products. This includes measuring openings, assessing installation requirements, advising customers on suitable products, and ensuring all information is clearly recorded for our installation teams.
This is a key role within the business, helping ensure installations run smoothly and customers receive the right solution first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out site surveys for garage doors, industrial doors, automated gates and related products
- Taking accurate measurements and assessing site conditions
- Advising customers on suitable products and options
- Identifying any potential installation challenges
- Preparing clear survey notes, drawings, and specifications
- Liaising with the office and installation teams
- Representing the company in a professional manner at all times
Requirements
- Experience in the garage door, construction, or building industry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Previous surveying experience
- Knowledge of garage doors, gates, or industrial doors
- Basic understanding of construction or building measurements
- Experience using tablets or job management software
