Job Summary
We are urgently seeking a dedicated Domestic Cleaner and Chef to join our care home in Salisbury. This dual role requires a compassionate individual capable of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and providing nutritious meals for residents. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all residents and staff. Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or hospital settings is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitisation of all communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen facilities in accordance with health and safety standards
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements, ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols are followed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and storage areas
- Manage waste disposal responsibly and ensure cleaning supplies are well-stocked and organised
- Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed to uphold the cleanliness and organisation of the care home
- Support residents with their daily needs in a respectful and caring manner when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or hospital environments is preferred
- Previous experience working within a care home setting is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle food safely and adhere to hygiene standards
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the care home environment
