We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and flexible Bank Home Care Assistant to support people in their own homes.
Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle for work.
This role is ideal for someone seeking flexible work who can provide cover for planned staff holidays and occasional sickness, sometimes at short notice. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary according to the needs of the service. Availability during mornings, evenings and weekends would be particularly helpful.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming.
- Support clients safely with mobility and transfers.
- Prepare meals and assist with light household tasks.
- Follow each client’s individual care plan and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate electronic care records.
- Report changes in a client’s condition or any concerns promptly.
- Communicate effectively with clients, relatives and other professionals.
- Travel between clients’ homes to provide reliable holiday and sickness cover.
- Assist with unexpected rota gaps where available.
Requirements
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are essential.
- Appropriate business-use motor insurance will be required.
- A caring, respectful and dependable approach.
- Willingness to work flexibly and consider shifts at short notice.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Confidence using a smartphone and electronic care-recording systems.
- Previous experience in home care or a similar setting is preferred, although suitable training can be provided.
- Ability to follow care plans, maintain confidentiality and work safely in clients’ homes.
- Female required due to client preference.
