Location: On-site / Support Desk
This is not a REMOTE role!
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior IT Engineer to take a leading role in supporting and improving client IT environments. This position goes beyond day-to-day support - you’ll act as a technical escalation point, contribute to infrastructure design, and play a key role in delivering projects and driving best practices.
You’ll be joining a small team with huge ambitions, where your input genuinely matters. This is an opportunity to have a real impact, shape how services are delivered, and grow with the business.
If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with modern technologies, and having a direct influence on outcomes, this role offers the autonomy and variety to do exactly that.
*Due to the nature of this role, remote or hybrid working will not be considered*
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as a technical escalation point for complex support issues
- Delivering advanced remote and on-site support across client environments
- Leading and contributing to projects (migrations, cloud adoption, infrastructure upgrades)
- Supporting and optimising Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid environments
- Designing and implementing secure, scalable IT solutions
- Proactively monitoring systems and identifying improvements
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development
- Building strong client relationships and providing expert guidance
- Perform network troubleshooting and configuration.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and IT systems.
- Perform regular system updates, patching, and security updates.
- Assist with user account setup, permissions, and access control management.
- Ensure compliance with data security, backup, and disaster recovery policies.
- Monitor and manage client IT infrastructure using our support management software
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and routine system health checks.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and support records.
- Keep the Support management software updated with current client system information and support activities.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices to protect client environments.
- Assist with security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure all systems comply with company IT policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Provide training and guidance to clients on IT systems and software.
- Assist with IT asset management, including hardware inventory tracking and procurement.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment, licenses, and infrastructure components.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Strong experience in a Level 3 / Senior IT support or infrastructure role
- Deep understanding of Windows environments and networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable:
- Experience in an MSP or multi-client environment
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco)
Why Join Us?
- Annual bonus based on company and individual performance
- Regular team days and social events
- Use of a company pool vehicle for client site visits
- Work on high-impact projects, not just support tickets
- Be part of a growing company where you can make a real impact
- Exposure to modern cloud and hybrid environments
- Opportunities to influence technical decisions
- Ongoing training and certification support
- Clear progression into senior, lead, or specialist roles
- Supportive, collaborative team culture
