Childminder's Assistant
Location: Urmston
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.30am – 5.30pm
I'm looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Childminder's Assistant (17+ years) to join my home-based childcare setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to help provide a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can learn through play.
Main Duties
- Supervising and interacting with children of different ages.
- Supporting children's learning and development through planned and child-led activities.
- Reading stories, singing songs and participating in creative play.
- Helping prepare and serve snacks and meals.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
- Assisting with nappy changing, toileting and personal care where required.
- Tidying toys, equipment and play areas throughout the day.
- Supporting outdoor play, walks and outings.
- Following safeguarding, health and safety, and setting policies at all times.
- Building positive relationships with children and their families.
- Completing basic records or paperwork when required.
Please note this is not an exhaustive list, and from time to time you may be asked to undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Essential Requirements
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Kind, patient, reliable and trustworthy.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Good communication skills.
- No previous Social Services involvement.
- Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, which will be arranged and paid for by me.
- Willing to attend any required training courses (including safeguarding, paediatric first aid and other relevant childcare training), which will also be paid for by me.
Previous childcare experience is welcomed but not essential, as full support and training will be provided for the right person.
