We are currently looking for a part time Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team.
You will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, daily food preparation, pot washing, whilst following safety and quality standards and reporting directly to the Head Chef. You may also occasionally be required to carry out restaurant cleaning duties.
Shifts may vary but will involve weekends.
Main Duties:
- Scrape and stack used crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment and utensils onto racks ready to put through the dishwashing machine.
- Operate the dishwasher ensuring correct use of detergents.
- Check all equipment is thoroughly cleaned once out of dishwasher, dried and put away in correct storage areas.
- Clean and tidy the pot wash area throughout and at the end of each shift.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Assist chefs with deliveries, including receiving, unpacking and storing items correctly.
- Carry out regular and deep cleaning tasks.
- Follow health and safety procedures.
- Maintenance cleaning.
- Leave the kitchen clean and organised at the end of each shift.
- Occasional restaurant cleaning, including cleaning bathrooms, may be required.
- Provide cover for other staff when necessary.
Experience / Skills:
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Experience assisting in a commercial kitchen environment would be an advantage.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adhere to health and safety practices.
You must be available to work lunchtime, evenings and weekends.
