Happy Little Hedgehogs Pack Away Nursery is looking for a full time nursery nurse
30 hours per week – all year round
(hours within - shifts 8:00am–6:00pm)
Start date: ASAP
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification
- Experience working with 2 year olds
- Enhanced DBS update service or willingness to obtain
- Paediatric First Aid or willingness to obtain

The successful candidate will support the development and well-being of children within a nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities and ensuring a safe, engaging space for learning and play. Duties
- To run and support other staff within our small and personal groups of children,
- Assist with the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety at all times
- Support children with their daily routines, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene needs
- Organise and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and socialisation
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment
- Support management in implementing educational programmes and behavioural policies
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative environment
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and activity planning
- Occasionally provide transportation for children when required, adhering to safety regulations
- setting up, and packing away the nursery when requested
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Proven management or leadership skills in a childcare context are advantageous
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience with organising activities that support children's growth and learning
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties
