Autism Support Assistant
Justteachers is recruiting for a Autism Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in the Lancaster area.
This full-time or part time role is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
The school provides a flexible and personalised curriculum based on the students EHCP, ensuring each student’s needs are met while fostering regular opportunities for social interaction within their peer group. They support students aged 8 to 19 with a wide range of additional needs, all of whom have Education Health Care Plans in place.
The school prides itself on building positive relationships between students and staff to promote successful learning in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing tailored support to meet the individual needs of students with additional educational needs.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
- Supporting students in developing independence and social interaction skills.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support.
- Proven experience working with students with additional needs, particularly those with SEN.
- Strong knowledge of supporting children with EHCPs and tailoring learning approaches.
- Be a driver – the location has no public transport access.
- Two education or school-based references.
