We're looking for an experienced Chef to join our care home team in Bolton. You'll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring every dish is cooked to a high standard while catering for a range of dietary requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals and snacks in line with residents' dietary needs, including diabetic, vegetarian and texture-modified diets.
- Assist with planning varied and seasonal menus.
- Manage food ordering and stock control.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards, ensuring all records are completed accurately.
- Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas remain clean, organised and compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
- Work alongside the Activities Team to provide catering for celebrations and special events.
- Support the management of kitchen budgets and minimise food waste.
- Assist with kitchen staff rotas where required.
- Supervise and support kitchen colleagues to maintain high standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Chef, ideally within a care home, healthcare or similar environment.
- Relevant catering qualification.
- Food Hygiene/Food Safety qualification.
- Good knowledge of food safety legislation and dietary requirements.
Desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A positive, team-focused attitude.
- The ability to work independently and use your initiative.
- A genuine passion for preparing high-quality meals.
