About The Network Collective
At The Network Collective (TNC), we're a team of fiercely independent, data-driven experts helping organisations make smarter decisions about their network and telecoms services. We combine deep commercial expertise with insightful analysis to give our customers the confidence to reduce costs, improve efficiency and maximise the value of their technology investments.
We're growing our analytical services team and are looking for a talented Commercial Analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data, and building better ways of working.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing analytical role where your technical expertise will directly influence customer decisions. You'll analyse complex telecoms and technology billing data, identify trends and opportunities, present your findings to customers, and help shape more efficient analytical processes across the business.
We're looking for someone who combines exceptional analytical ability with excellent communication skills. You'll be just as comfortable building sophisticated Power BI reports as you are explaining your insights and recommendations to senior customer stakeholders.
Please note: This role requires strong, hands-on Power BI experience. Power BI is a core part of the role and candidates without practical experience developing reports and dashboards are unlikely to be suitable.
Because you'll regularly present analysis and provide advice directly to customers, you must have fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, confidently and professionally.
Experience of live network services (particularly WAN, telephony and mobile billing) would be highly advantageous.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver accurate and timely validation of technology service invoices.
- Develop, maintain and enhance reporting using Power BI and advanced Excel.
- Analyse billing data to identify trends, anomalies and commercial opportunities.
- Investigate variances proactively, providing clear commentary and recommendations.
- Present findings and explain complex analysis to customers in a clear and engaging way.
- Manage customer and supplier queries through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate inventories and supporting data.
- Monitor team KPIs and contribute to consistently high service standards.
- Share knowledge, support colleagues and promote best practice across the team.
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and improve analytical processes.
- Support the development and implementation of FinOps processes.
Essential Experience
- Demonstrable commercial experience using Power BI to build dashboards, reports and data visualisations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including analysing and manipulating large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to confidently present complex findings and recommendations to customers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for finding smarter ways of working.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Experience building strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience validating telecoms or technology-related invoices.
- Knowledge of live network services, including WAN, telephony and mobile services.
- Experience of FinOps principles and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
What We're Looking For
You'll be someone who:
- Enjoys solving complex analytical problems.
- Takes ownership and delivers work to a consistently high standard.
- Communicates confidently with customers both in person and via video meetings.
- Is organised, reliable and adaptable.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys sharing knowledge.
- Is committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Embodies TNC's values of Integrity, Inquisitiveness, Innovation and Being Informed.
