Location: Telford
Employment Status: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
Shift Pattern: 07:00 - 15:00 / 15:00 - 23:00 - Rotating Shifts

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit multiple Team Leaders to join their Manufacturing Operations team.
Position Summary
The Team Leader is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting a team of manufacturing operatives to safely achieve production, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
Working closely with the Cell Leader, you will drive daily performance, develop team capability, promote continuous improvement, and act as the key communication link between management and shop floor employees.
Key Responsibilities
Quality
- Take ownership of the first response to quality concerns and ensure timely escalation.
- Drive Right First Time (RFT) performance across the production area.
- Ensure Standardised Work is current, understood, and consistently followed.
- Promote and enforce Andon escalation and Jidoka principles.
- Lead containment activities and initial root cause investigations.
- Support and lead Quality Control Circle (QCC) improvement activities.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Act as the first point of contact for Health & Safety during shift operations.
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture.
- Ensure PPE and safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Challenge unsafe acts and conditions immediately.
- Carry out safety audits, workplace inspections, and compliance checks.
- Ensure environmental standards and company procedures are maintained.
Production & Delivery
- Lead daily production activities to achieve production plans and targets.
- Allocate labour effectively to meet operational requirements.
- Monitor hourly production performance and respond proactively to any shortfalls.
- Escalate production constraints and operational issues promptly.
- Deliver effective shift handovers with clear communication of priorities and actions.
Cost & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor labour utilisation and productivity.
- Support initiatives to reduce scrap, waste, and production costs.
- Promote efficient use of materials and consumables.
- Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to maximise equipment performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
People Management
- Lead, supervise, motivate, and coach a team of manufacturing operatives.
- Deliver daily SQDCH team briefings.
- Support training and development through on-the-job coaching and training matrices.
- Manage attendance, performance, conduct, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company procedures.
- Foster a positive and engaged team culture.
- Act as the communication link between management and production associates.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety within manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively under pressure.
- Experience monitoring production performance and reporting against KPIs.
- Understanding of continuous improvement principles.
Desirable
- Previous Team Leader or Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and Standardised Work.
- Experience using SQDCH management systems.
- Understanding of quality systems, Andon, and Jidoka principles.
- Experience training and coaching production operatives.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
