Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering parcels and documents promptly across designated routes, ensuring excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of our logistics network. A valid driver’s licence and previous delivery experience are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Collect and deliver parcels, documents, and goods to various locations within the specified area
- Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Assist with loading and unloading items, which may involve heavy lifting
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proof of delivery as required
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during routes
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a solid understanding of commercial driving practices
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for operating the specific vehicle type (e.g., car or lorry)
- Experience working in warehouse environments or handling heavy items is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan efficient routes
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of walking or standing during shifts
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under minimal supervision
