Summary
To assist the Production Manager in the smooth running of the workshop activities. Overseeing of all processes and procedures relating to customer orders, quality control and health and safety arrangements .
KEY DUTIES:
Assist the Production Manager as and when directed, including but not limited to:
Work with the team to manage and prioritise tasks to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
Encourages team effort and supportive attitudes among workers.
Responsible for knowing the correct procedures for workers to follow and ensuring that they comply.
Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained at all times.
Keep the Production Manager informed of any significant issues relating to workshop operation, whether it be production, quality, health and safety, or personnel issues.
Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Production Manager.
Responsible for setting high standards to reach production goals and ensuring that higher quantities produced do not compromise quality.
Where appropriate, carry out shop floor production operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The jobholder will be responsible to the Production Manager for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the workshop and will work in close harmony with members of the team.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Be able to physically lift/move products within the legally specified weight limit.
Good communication skills with a high level of spoken and written English.
Numerate, literate, IT competent and possessing a high level of dexterity.
Awareness of good people management practice.
