Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer focused Assistant Manager to join our team at Joe Jennings Bookmakers, an independent, family-run business established in 1961. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the shop, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the Shop Manager in all aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring it operates efficiently and profitably.
- Provide exceptional customer service, handling inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Oversee cash handling, balancing, and banking procedures accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
- Monitor betting activity and ensure compliance with gambling regulations.
- Step into the Manager’s role in their absence.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a betting shop preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, organised, and detail-oriented.
