Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety, Quality and Compliance Manager specialising in Health and Safety to join our organisation. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent report writing abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management. This position offers an opportunity to lead safety initiatives, promote organisational compliance and foster a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update health and safety policies in line with current legislation and best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments across all operational areas and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Lead investigations into incidents or near-misses, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, compliance status, and incident investigations for senior management.
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programmes for staff at all levels.
- Monitor adherence to safety procedures through audits and inspections; recommend improvements where needed.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies during inspections or audits.
- Oversee emergency response planning, including first aid procedures and incident management protocols.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation through communication campaigns and engagement activities.
Requirements
- At least 10 years experience in health and safety management within a similar industry setting.
- Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrable expertise in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Proactive attitude with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and compliance requirements within the UK workplace environment.
This role is integral to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality working environment while supporting organisational growth through continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
