We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and confident Governance, Compliance and Scrutiny Lead to join the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire.
This is an important role within the Governance and Scrutiny Team, supporting the Police and Crime Commissioner in holding the Chief Constable to account. You will help ensure that governance arrangements are effective, statutory requirements are met, scrutiny processes are robust, and key strategic meetings are well planned and serviced.
About the role
The post holder will lead and support a range of governance, compliance and scrutiny activity across the OPCC. This will include supporting strategic governance meetings, coordinating scrutiny activity and supporting assurance processes.
You will play a key role in managing the Commissioner’s Scrutiny Panels, ensuring panel processes are well managed, outcomes are accurately recorded and recommendations are monitored through to delivery. You will also support the development of scrutiny arrangements that provide effective challenge, insight and impact.
The role will also support statutory transparency requirements, complaints processes, governance meetings, audit and inspection activity, and wider assurance work. This includes assisting with HMICFRS responses, evidence gathering, recommendation tracking and the continued development of robust governance frameworks.
You will be expected to act with a high degree of integrity and display motivation, commitment and perseverance in all tasks. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with the ability to manage work at pace and deliver successful outcomes and will have experience of customer service and handling complaints. The Police and Crime Commissioner is an elected official however the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner is a non political office and the posts within are politically restricted.
