Responsibilities
- Assist residents and clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Support patient care routines including medication administration, meal preparation, and light housekeeping to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Engage in behavior management techniques to support individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's care needs
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance mental well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness
- Transport clients safely to appointments or outings using personal vehicle or designated transportation methods, adhering to all safety protocols
- Monitor health status by observing changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or family members
- Assist with specialized care such as hospice support or heavy lifting tasks when necessary
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and senior care
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical demands of caregiving tasks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate caregiving and behavior management
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
