As a Print Assistant you will provide support to the printers assisting with supply of materials, change overs and maintenance activities. Reliability, attention to detail and a thirst for learning are key to success in these posts, and all our employees work to business values that include ensuring a high level of health, safety and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Rotating 12 Hour Shifts (Days and Nights). 3 shifts per week (after training period on day shift)
Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of print operators to ensure production requirements are met and a high standard of quality is produced
- Work efficiently with the printer to change over jobs to set targets
- Work efficiently to prepare machine equipment to enable quick change overs
- Maintain ancillary equipment to a high standard
- Loading and unloading of reels on and off the press
- Checking equipment daily and using it safely
- Maintain a high level of house keeping
- Removing material waste containers from factory for recycling
- Ensure the necessary protective equipment is always worn / used
- Cleaning and maintaining presses
- Identify safety hazards in the workplace
- Ensure materials (paper & plates) are always prepared and available
- Forklift truck driving
- Assist the printer with the weekly / monthly cleaning and maintenance activities on the press
- Other responsibilities as determined by management

Essential Criteria:
- Available for 3 x 12 hour shifts to include Saturday day and Sunday night shift
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Must be pro-active in your duties, be able to work on your own initiative and work with others
- Trustworthy and reliable
- An understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Good time management and punctual
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of printing processes would be an advantage, but full training would be given
- Forklift experience preferred, but not essential
- Experience of using a handheld pallet truck
